Management

Randall Nelson, Founder and President

Mr. Nelson founded Evergreen Medical Technologies in 2006 and serves as the company President. Previously, Mr. Nelson was responsible for the development of medical devices for 30 years at both emerging and larger medical device companies. Mr. Nelson has held management positions at St. Jude Medical Inc., Atrial Fibrillation Division; Boston Scientific Corporation, SCIMED Division; Angeion Corporation; and Cardiac Pacemakers, Inc. with earlier experience as a mechanical engineer in the design of pacemakers at Medtronic, Inc. He has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and a BS in Economics from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon. Mr. Nelson is an Adjunct Faculty member of the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota, where he teaches a graduate level course in the evaluation of new medical innovations. He holds 12 patents issued for medical device innovations and delivers lectures and presentations on medical device product development.


Steven Scott, Vice President

Mr. Scott joined Evergreen in 2008 and directs the R & D activities of the device development and test programs. He has over 27 years' experience in the medical device industry developing Class II and III devices, including implantable defibrillation leads, electrophysiological and angiographic catheters and guide wires.

Mr. Scott has held management positions at St. Jude Medical Inc., Lake Region Medical, Stereotaxis, Cordis Corporation, and InnoMedica. His management experience spans the areas of research, development, manufacturing engineering, automation and operations. Mr. Scott has also provided project management services for various companies as an independent consultant. He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Boston University. Mr. Scott has four patents issued to date and has 18 publications related to the medical device industry. He has also presented research at major medical conferences and served as a guest lecturer at medical device manufacturing events.
